The Locations: Jewels Between Lake and Hills

Meina: The Heart of the Event

Often called the "town of villas," Meina is a municipality on the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore, at the mouth of the Tiasca stream. This charming tourist town is known for its stunning nineteenth-century villas and its characteristic old town.

Arona: Between History and Modernity

Arona is a town overlooking Lake Maggiore, known for its lively historic center and scenic lakefront. A major attraction is the statue of St. Charles Borromeo, the second tallest visitable statue in the world after the Statue of Liberty, offering a breathtaking panoramic view. The city also boasts numerous historic villas and gardens, a testament to its rich past, as well as a harbor that allows boats to navigate Lake Maggiore, all the way to Switzerland.

Gattico-Veruno: Among Hills and Traditions

An Unmissable Opportunity

The 2025 HPV World Championship aims to be more than just a top-level sporting competition and a celebration of technological innovation; it aspires to become an event that unites enthusiasts, the curious, and new explorers of the world of human-powered vehicles.

In Italy, this sector is still a niche, with extraordinary vehicles like recumbent bikes and velomobiles remaining little known to the general public, who are mostly attached to the traditional idea of a bicycle. Furthermore, even the conventional bicycle struggles to be considered a true means of transport, penalized by a culture that favors the automobile.

This event, therefore, aims not only to promote a unique sport but also to raise public awareness of fundamental issues for a more sustainable future, on a human scale rather than one dominated by motor vehicles. It is a rare and precious opportunity to highlight not only the beauty of these innovative vehicles (and the locations) but also to spark a dialogue on the mobility of tomorrow, combining technology, ecology, and passion in an engaging, all-encompassing experience.
